Conceptual Photography

About Us.

We are Jada and David! We are "graphic designers" who use mixed media art in the form of set design, photography, lighting, and motion to create stimulating visuals that stand out for musicians, designers, brands, and more.

Jada and David Parrish

Together, we form a dynamic creative duo, managing set design, lighting, photography, and videography for all of our projects.

For almost a decade, we worked as wedding and portrait photographers before making a major career pivot, allowing our creativity to flourish in the studio. In 2020, we began building sets for our photoshoots, which led to our 100 Set Project in 2021. Over the course of one year, we built 100 sets and photographed 100 shoots, transforming the trajectory of our career.

Today, we specialize in building custom sets for both personal and client projects. We love working with musicians to create music videos and album cover art, as well as working with creative brands, fashion designers, and more to produce meaningful photos and captivating content.

Work With Us!

About the Work.

We use plywood, paint, and light to create liminal spaces filled with bold color and optical illusions, exploring the space between the familiar and the unknown. Our work blurs the line between reality and the surreal.

All of our shoots are filled with narrative, powerful emotions, and complex thoughts. We excel at making people feel at ease in front of the camera, allowing us to produce images that convey deep emotions and thoughtful concepts. Our dramatic portraiture style lends itself beautifully to work in both the fashion and music industries.

Jada and David Sets

About the Sets.

We use plywood and paint to build immersive, surreal sets and create practical, in-camera effects for all their projects. By blending elements of lighting, sculpture, photography, and motion, we tell compelling visual stories in unique and impactful ways.

All of our sets are hand-built and designed by us, using modified flats and structures to create immersive, surreal worlds. Our sets are known for bold colors, forced perspective, and optical illusions, each built with the camera angle and final shot in mind.

Sustainability is a core value of ours, so we repurpose and reuse materials from past sets as much as possible. Each set is custom-built for a specific shoot, ensuring no one else is ever photographed on the same set, making every creation truly one-of-a-kind.

About the Art.

Our artwork is displayed in galleries worldwide. Our work has been featured at Miami Art Week, Berlin Photo Week, and we were longlisted for the Aesthetica Art Prize. We showcase our photography, plywood sculptures, and immersive installations. All of our photos are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper and framed in hand-built frames by us, color-matched to complement each photograph.
